It is recommended to plan around 10 hours for the hike. The ascent is not particularly difficult for fit hikers; including short breaks, it took us 3 1/2 hours to get up and another 3 1/2 hours to get down.
We spent around 2 hours at the top, including breaks and walking around the crater.
The descent is pretty much a knee-wrecker.

We started from the Makkari Camp Site. There are toilets and a free parking lot there. The route is well signposted. You walk almost the entire way to the top through a forest.

Trekking shoes are perfectly sufficient, but some sections can be a bit muddy and slippery.

Walking around the crater is recommended. Around 1/3 of the route requires a little climbing. Takes around 1 - 1 1/2 hours.
