The father Abraham Schacht is located on the outskirts of Marienberg, on the road to Lauta. He represented the main entrance to the same silver mine, which was operated with interruptions from 1550 to 1900. In the year 1948 to 1950 the broken shaft by the SAG Wismut was partially uncovered for reconnaissance purposes and exploratory work carried out.

The shaft, which goes almost vertically into the depths, is lavishly bricked. A headlight is switched on at the push of a button and illuminates the view into the depths.

Interesting old mining. Similar to the Felberstolln in Himmelreich. The site is beautifully prepared and offers mining enthusiasts an insight into the amazing achievements of our ancestors.

The father Abraham pit was mined from 1550 to 1899 and it was the most famous silver mine in the Marienberg district. From 1947 to 1976 there was also plenty of pitchblende which made Abraham the main pit of the SDAG "Wismut" in the Marienberg district. During the storage work up to 2014, the historical vault wall was repaired and below the vault the shaft tube at 16m depth was closed with a concrete shear plug. Thus, an impressive example of historical mining art from the 18th century has been preserved to this day. Good luck for
