The mill in Westerholz was built in 1877 and is now one of the largest Dutch mills. It was used as a sawmill for the neighboring kilns of the brickworks, hence the name golden eagle.

The Golden Eagle Mill
The “Golden Eagle” windmill, built in 1876, is the largest gallery Dutchman in northern Germany. It lies above the beach and is visible from afar from the sea. It is a listed building. After extensive restoration, it is used as a restaurant and hotel.
