Road Between Pietrapertosa and Campomaggiore

From Pietrapertosa it is possible to experience the exciting Flight of the Angel, it is a question of reaching the nearby village of Castelmezzano by an unusual route, harnessed and hooked to a steel cable and hovering in the air.
The stations of the Flight of the Angel are present in the municipalities of Castelmezzano and Pietrapertosa in Basilicata in the province of Potenza, two of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
The stations, or the points of departure and arrival of the flight, are located in the Lucanian Dolomites which constitute one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in Italy. Each flight takes you across the open space between these two municipalities, giving you a unique emotion and an unforgettable show.

Arrived in any of these two splendid villages, you can visit them and admire the houses set among the rocks, make suggestive historical and naturalistic excursions, as well as taste the exquisite local products. The splendid surrounding landscape will give you an unusual view and above all full of emotion. What will appear in the eyes of the visitor, in fact, will be a panorama that is usually the privilege of winged creatures alone.

Once in the arrival area of the town opposite, you "angels" will return with your feet on the ground and, freed from the harness, you can reach the center of the town first and the departure of the other line, thanks to a shuttle. And at that point the dream will start again suspended between heaven and earth.

The thrill of flying can be experienced on two different lines whose height difference is 118 and 130 meters respectively.
The first, known as San Martino, which starts from Pietrapertosa (departure altitude 1020 meters) and arrives in Castelmezzano (arrival altitude 859 meters) after traveling 1415 meters, reaching a maximum speed of 110 km / h.

The fish ponds line, on the other hand, will allow you to launch from Castelmezzano (departure altitude 1019 meters) and arrive in Pietrapertosa (arrival altitude 888 meters) reaching 120 km / h over a distance of 1452 meters!
