    The lower dam was completed in 1845, and the higher dam a few years later. The pair of reservoirs provide water for Sheffield and also control the river Rivelin flow which was important to the mill owners downstream.
    Now owned and managed by Yorkshire Water the path around both reservoirs is a popular family walk.
