Not far away from Wels, about 15 kilometers from the city gates, there is Scharten. Beautifully situated in a rural area, a good ascent leads up to the Schartner ridge, from where you have a nice view, especially to the south, because there you can see the Alps on the horizon, if the weather cooperates.
