This cute little lake is located above Ljøsådalen, enclosed between two mountain slopes. From here you have a beautiful view of the valley and you can see the wall of Trollveggen on the horizon.

On stony paths you hike along the banks of the long Illvatnet. At the southern end of the lake you will find some nice campsites.

The surrounding mountains are reflected in the crystal clear water of the mountain lake. With a little luck you will find a nice campsite between all the stones.

Here you walk past Såtevatnet. The view a little above the lake is particularly beautiful. On the east bank there are some nice campsites with a wonderful view from the apse.

A very stony path leads you along the banks of the Bjordalsvatnet. Here - as is so often the case in Skarvheimen - some surefootedness is required.

Many small islands are scattered across the vast lake - a good place for a long break.

From here you have a beautiful view over the extensive lake. You can also see Hardangerjøkulen on the horizon.
