The abbey of Santa Maria Assunta is located on a hill near Monteveglio, a hamlet in the municipality of Valsamoggia. Built at the behest of Matilde di Canossa, this abbey stands near a previous church from the 5th century.

Stone construction available to passers-by and very useful in case of rain.

Summit of Monte Belvedere. There are ancient ruins and entrenchments from World War II. There are memorials for resistance fighters and the US Army.

From there you have a fantastic panoramic view of the mountain range.
