The train station Ausserberg is the ideal starting point or destination for hikes on the Lötschberg-Südrampe. At least hourly train connection to Brig or Bern, Postbus to Visp, Inn with a large terrace next door.

Very nice Lötschental mountain village with beautiful, old buildings. The Lonza flows through the middle of the village.

Nice restaurant with friendly staff where you can take a break. Here you can also rent trodlers, which you can use to drive down into the valley.
