Although the west of Naxos is extremely flat, you can climb a few meters both north of the capital and a little further south on the Stelida peninsula. As a reward there is a fantastic view of the beach, sea and the small towns.

The west coast of Naxos is a wonderfully relaxing place to cycle. from the capital Chora it goes south. You should take the Stelida peninsula with you to climb a few meters. Then further south through Agios Prokopios and Agia Anna - most of the time right along the beach. at some point it is time to look back at this magnificent and seemingly endless beach. Recommendation: definitely experience the sunset on the beach.

Remains of the former Apollo temple from the late 6th century BC BC, but was never completed. The stones of the temple were later used by the Venetians for the construction of their Kástro. Only the 7m high and 5m wide gate of the temple remained because the stones were too heavy to be transported away.
