Although the ramparts of this once mighty fortification have been reduced to tumbled stone, the remains of Mither Tap hillfort are hugely impressive. The barbican entrance is a rare survivor whilst the views from the summit are breathtaking.

On the summit of Tyrebagger Hill is a cyclindrical stone viewing tower with a spiral stairway. It was built as a folly in the nineteenth century by a Dr William Henderson to mark the highest point of his landholdings.

Millstone hill is a Marilyn at 409m high. It can be approached from a small car park to the south, or from the Bennachie visitor centre, where the trails lead up its north slope.

Easy approach parking on the road to the east. Good views back to Aberdeen.
