Attractions around Wenden

The Kindelsberg (the landmark of the Krombacher brewery) is one of the highlights north of Kreuztal. The ascent is exhausting, but above you can then recover from the hardships.

Again and again, there are beautiful views of the lake

The tunnel can still be used until the end of October. The tunnel is closed every November to mid-April of the following year. Then rare, protected bat species hibernate there.

An impressive ensemble of early industrial buildings with good explanations of how iron was extracted with a charcoal blast furnace.

Tunnel passage, a great fascinating experience. Cool air even at 30 degrees outside. But beware of pedestrians, inliners and there are still cyclists who are traveling in the tunnel without light.

The rusty steel construction invites you to linger. Great view from the top. Stop is worthwhile. Also because of the historical archaeological site around the ore mining in the Middle Ages until the 19th century.

The Kindelsberg and its tower are always worth a trip. It can be particularly nicely combined with the 14 kilometer long Kindelsberg path.

Absolutely worth seeing! The name "Kleintirol-Straße" and the inn "Kleintirol" in the nearby town of Hohenhain, was not created without reason.Anyone who has ever been in the Black Forest will also recognize similarities.

You can chill on the Biggesee excellent when the weather is nice

In 1326 a Crottorf farm is mentioned for the first time, which Johann von Selbach converted into a moated castle. The gardens of the castle can be visited.

Schorsch`s Panoramahütte is located directly in the log cabin and invites you to linger. The cabin is open outside the ski season on Friday evenings and on Saturdays and Sundays from noon.
