Der Herbst steht vor der Tür. Jener Jahresabschnitt, zu dem überall im Salzburger Land Erntezeit gefeiert wird. Auch im Großarltal, zwischen mächtigen Gipfeln wie Draugstein und Schuhflicker, macht man sich bereit für das Fest, das Tradition, Brauchtum und altes Handwerk zu neuem Leben erweckt.

Überall im Tal und auch auf den rund 40 Großarler Almen dreht sich nun alles um die drei Säulen: Köstlichkeiten aus der Salzburger Naturküche, Spezialitäten aus der heimischen Landwirtschaft sowie regionales Brauchtum und die gelebte Volkskultur. Und du wirst dazu eingeladen, dich den Feierlichkeiten anzuschließen.

Erlebe mit ein bisschen Glück einen Almabtrieb wie er im Buche steht. Jeder Bauer treibt seine „aufgekranzten“ Kühe ganz individuell ins Tal. Trifft er dabei auf Wanderer, wird traditionelles Schnuraus-Gebäck und selbstgebrannter Schnaps verteilt. Hat das Jahr keinen „Unreim“ (Unglück) gebracht, scheuen die Großarler keine Mühe, das auch ordentlich zu feiern.

Und wenn das alles zu viel Trubel für dich ist und du einfach nur die goldene Jahreszeit in der herrlich verfärbten Natur genießen willst, dann bist du in Großarl und Hüttschlag ebenso richtig. Die neun Touren, die wir hier für dich zusammengestellt haben, führen dich an die schönsten Naturplätze und auf die magischsten Gipfel des ganzen Tales. Jene, die im Herbst besonders goldig glänzen. Während du dir in einer der vielen schönen Hütten die Herbstsonne ins Gesicht scheinen lässt, kannst du dich durch die oben erwähnten Salzburger Köstlichkeiten wie Kaspressknödel, „Pofesen” oder Bauernkrapfen probieren.

Der Herbst ist für viele Wanderer die schönste Zeit zum Erkunden der Alpenlandschaft. Im Großartal, dem Tal der Almen, wird dem Ganzen noch ein kulinarisches Krönchen aufgesetzt. Freu dich drauf!
