The 224 kilometres (139 mi) of the Elbe and Vltava cycle paths offer a wonderful variety of scenic highlights, architecture and history, allowing you to relax and marvel at the surroundings. Along the way, you’ll find fascinating landscapes between rock formations, forests, castles, fortresses and charming towns.

Always following the waters of first the Elbe river, later the Labe and then the Vltava, you’ll cycle from Dresden in Germany through tranquil landscapes across the Czech border to the capital Prague in four days. The route is almost entirely flat, with only a few small climbs to contend with. You’ll have plenty of time to park your bike and take in the highlights along the route, too. Rest areas and refreshment stops provide well-deserved breaks in between. In the three stage-end towns of Bad Schandau, Ústí nad Labem and Mělník, you’ll find a good selection of accommodation options.

Today we go from the village of Ústí nad Labem (Aussig in German) to Mělník, 75 kilometers away. But after you've already had two days to warm up, you can do it with links. At the beginning you drive along the river through the protected Bohemian low mountain range with its hilly forests.
