In the Murtal region, you can listen to the sound of the Swiss pines (Zirbenrauschen) on the alpine pastures, breathe in their unmistakable scent (Zirbenduft), and maybe even sample their unique flavours (Zirbengeschmack) in the form of schnapps. The beautiful pine forests (Zirbenwälder) await, as well as an endless sea of peaks boasting unforgettable panoramas.

In this Collection, we invite you to enjoy the region’s peaks and unwind on their trails. There’s something for everyone, including a short, sharp ascent to the Rosenkogel, a longer hike to the Bocksruck, or an expedition to soak in the views from the Großer Bösenstein, the highest mountain in the Murtal. Each Tour takes you to at least one peak.

Any hike through the fragrant Zirbenwälder seems to make time stand still. The scent has been proven to have a positive effect on body, mind, and soul. Here, you can relax by the mountain lakes, let your gaze wander over the Alps, and enjoy unique food in the mountain huts, with Zirben products and Murtaler Steirerkäse (Styrian cheese). If you’re after a beautiful alpine getaway, you’ll find what you are looking for in Murtal, Styria’s green heart.
