The 65-kilometre (40 mi) Cycle Path of Stones (Radweg Weg der Steine) explores the Uckermark region of northeastern Germany. Here, you’ll cycle mainly on a former railway embankment through the middle of the Uckermark Lakes Nature Park with its gently undulating hills and numerous bathing waters.

The Uckermark is a "stone-rich" region, which cannot be overlooked along the cycle route. You can explore Stone Age graves made of huge erratic blocks, old fieldstone buildings and historic brick Gothic architecture. The ice age glaciers are responsible for this wealth of different rocks, which is how the cycle path got its name.

If you’re an ambitious cyclist, you can easily complete the Cycle Path of Stones in one day. There’s a railway station at both the starting point in Templin and the destination in Feldberg, so you can conveniently travel there by train.

In this Collection, however, I’ve split the cycle route into two stages, so you have plenty of time to experience the Highlights along the way. I’ve chosen the small town of Boitzenburg as an intermediate destination. Here, you’ll find accommodation in the Zum grünen Baum Inn or, if you want to sleep in a more princely manner, the Schlosshotel Boitzenburg.

To get to the starting point of the first stage in Templin, simply take the regional railway with your bike. At the end of the route in Feldberg, you can also take the next regional train home at the station. You’ll find a few places to stop for refreshments along the route, including cosy cafés and interesting rest areas. I wish you two wonderful days on the Cycle Path of Stones.
