On this three-week vacation in July 2023, I went to visit my parents, relatives, and friends in the San Francisco Bay Area. I biked down the coastal route (mainly US101 and CA1), doing a speed run of 2000 km in 11 days — I think most cycle tourists take about twice as long. Along the way, I spent one night at my cousin's house, two nights in motels, and the other seven nights at campsites.
