Welcome to ViaRhôna! From the landscapes of the Alps to the beaches of the Mediterranean, ViaRhôna takes you along the Rhône for an adventure rich in history, from the Gallo-Romans to the present day. It tells the epic story of a river that has shaped its valley over the centuries, a tale that comes to life in encounters with craftsmen, producers, guides, inhabitants and the epic memories of cycling tourists who come as a couple, as a family or with friends to travel its paths.

Because pedaling along the Rhône is embarking on an odyssey through 2000 years of history, and exploring the wild panoramas in Savoie, the Roman city of Lyon, the gorges of the Ardèche and the wild Camargue... a nature that is discovered by bike, with detours and activities that punctuate the journey. ViaRhôna is also a gastronomic and oenological adventure, from the truffles of Bugey to the bull of Camargue via the famous wines of the Rhône valley: 815 kilometers of meetings and sharing.

ViaRhôna, from Léman to the Mediterranean, now it's up to you to make a whole story out of it! The ViaRhôna cycle route is accessible to all levels of cyclists, whether you are with family, friends or an experienced athlete. The trails are mainly laid out in greenways and secure cycle paths, guaranteeing a pleasant and safe experience. The route is also marked from Lake Léman to the Mediterranean with the logo of the route, accompanied by the EuroVelo 17 sign.

Throughout the course, you will find bike rental services, stations, villages and towns where you can eat, discover local specialties and spend the night (from camping to luxury hotels via guest houses, there is something for everyone!). To reach Geneva, you can take the train to Cornavin station. The route being generally well served by the TGV, you can also choose another starting point such as Lyon, Valence, Montélimar or Avignon. In total, 36 stations serve the route. All year round, bikes are welcome on board TERs in the designated spaces and within the limit of available spaces.

So, ready to embark on this unique adventure? ViaRhôna will introduce you to the beauty of the Rhône and its surroundings while pedaling along this extraordinary cycle path. See you on the road!
