At the end of December 2020 I started designing this route. My idea was to combine the longest and most beautiful gravel strips in the wider area of Breda into one wonderful gravel route. Five months and many hours of exploration and redrawing later, this is the final result. In the end, it turned out to be the ideal route for the first edition of the Kamu Gravel Series. This route is approximately 140 kilometers long, more than 100 kilometers of which are unpaved. It is not super technical except for a few parts with singletrack.
From Kamu Bikes & Coffee you cycle eastwards out of Breda on one of the most beautiful gravel strips in Breda, and almost immediately afterwards you make the only serious altimeters of the day over the highest noise barrier in the Netherlands. Don't enjoy the view too much, because this stretch of singletrack is cunning. After you have been able to enjoy the view over Breda, you descend towards the Ulvenhoutse Bos.Via wide forest paths, a few singletracks and doubletracks, ancient cart tracks, gravel paths and some wide dirt roads you head towards Alphen and Goirle. There are miles of wide gravel paths here. After an endless gravel road, you cycle on narrower gravel roads to the Utrecht estate. You dive back into the forest via a short but beautiful asphalt passage. Here you pass the border between Belgium and the Netherlands. Via a Scandinavian-looking dirt road of almost 7 kilometers you fly to Turnhout.
A short piece of asphalt and a crossing via the bridge take you to the other side of the canal where Turnhout is located. After a few kilometers of heavy gravel you turn into the center of Turnhout. Here you can enjoy a well-deserved lunch at Barzoen. As soon as you have left the center of Turnhout, you will cycle over gravel again. You cycle back to the Dutch border via various long gravel roads and a spicy sand strip. At Zondereigen you pass the border again via a tractor path. This is followed by a few very tough kilometers on dirt tracks and farm roads. At the Strijbeek you gravel across the heath towards Galder. After which you drive towards the Markdal near Breda via a few paths located at the back. Here are the last kilometers of gravel along the meandering Mark before you can start with a well-deserved beer at Kamu.Groute(s)!Bjorn

The route starts at a parking lot (no charge). The parking lot is fairly easy to reach, also via highway (A-28).Also let the route lead partly through the city center of Zwolle and also along the Mechanieker (Thorbeckegracht / Henk Zuidema).
Please use bicycle friendly on the gravel paths directly near Zwolle because of the use of dog walkers / walkers. However, this is only small pieces. The route leads on well-used paths/roads. I have not included splatter strips (mud) in the route, after all it has to roll. The route can be driven all year round, but I would not go with prolonged rain beforehand.
