About Hampi Schmid

Actually, I wanted to go to Flums in the direction of the Spitzmeilen hut. But since it was dammed because of a construction site in front of the Walensee, I decided to go to the Glarnerland without further ado. I saw this tour at a Komoot user some time ago and since I've never been to the very back, this tour was just right for me. Fantastic tour from Glarus via Schwanden - Rüti-Linthal and then from Hotel Tödi up the steep ramps until you can't go any further. The landscape was awesome and the beautiful autumn weather made the whole thing a great tour.

Today I used the hair dryer window and made the loop around the Vilan in the Bündner Herrschaft. The ascent from Maienfeld to the Fläscher Alp is very steep and takes a lot of battery and energy. From the Alp it goes down to Seewis in the Prättigau. The descent in the upper part is mainly on wide forest roads. From the lower Alp it goes on single trails towards Seewis. The trails were very muddy and there was also one or the other sliding passage in them. From the Federstein vantage point, there is another single trail down to Jenins. The upper part S3 and can only be mastered with pushing. The lower part dan S2 and very flowing. It's a shame it wasn't quite enough for the sun, but I had a dry tour before the weather change next week. It was fun today and the rutting cries of the wild animals could not be ignored ... 😜

Since I have to work again tonight, I left early this morning and was rewarded with a fantastic sunrise on Lake Walen. Great start to a strenuous but scenic tour. In Wesen started to Murg and then turned into the Murgtal. From the ticket house there were countless switchbacks up towards the Bachlaui parking lot, everything on asphalt and without any technical difficulties. From then on, the steep ramps and the technical part of the tour came into their own. Arrived at the top of the Murgsee (I was the first) wonderfully quiet and a super beautiful panorama. The DH down the same route has some difficult sections that I didn't dare to ride. In the lower part, already back on asphalt, I took the junction with a counter slope so that I didn't have to follow the road, which was absolutely worth it. The way back then leads me back to my childhood memories at the (Lost Place) Walensee rest area. Great tour and the landscape of the hammer.

After an intensive work weekend, a little "clear headed tour" was enough on Sunday afternoon. Over the Stöcklichrüz with cool Dh after Lachen and to finish off a little trail ride over the Buchberg. I wish everyone a good start into the new week.

Today I wanted to finish my tour from last week and as soon as I was in Ebnat Kappel Jupp saw me on the live tracking and spontaneously as he is he invited me to coffee and croissants. Jupp came with us on the tour. Super beautiful area and when we finally got out of the fog, the bike day was perfect. Thank you Jupp for the company, it was a lot of fun with you, even if you had to wait for me again and again.

Such bad luck I actually wanted to follow in the footsteps of Jupp and Toni von Rappi over the Ricken to Toggenburg and then from Stein over to Amden. Unfortunately, a defect stopped me at Seon Monastery, which made it impossible to continue my journey. So, turn around and go straight to the bike box in Schmerikon. There it was found that the display (on-board computer) had made itself independent and that it had chosen the support mode as it pleased without my intervention. Get a new display and successfully tested it in the Joner forests. Tomorrow Saturday the attempt to finish the tour.

Wow, today was at the highest point of this bike year, but I hope there are still some tours that are higher in late summer.
Started in Chur at 7.30 in the morning with relatively cool temperatures. From Chur we went over the old Poland up towards Churwalden / Valbella. The way is just awesome. From Valbella up to Alp Lavoz and then towards Stätzersattel. Up to Alp Lavoz, pleasant inclines, just as a biker's heart loves. From the Alp then only steep but really steep. Once at the top you have a fantastic all-round view over the Lenzerheide to Savognin and over to the Heinzeberge, Laax with the Crap Sogn Gion and the Domleschg. The DH direction Rothenburnnen was in the upper part S2 / S3 and in the lower part S1. The descent was not so exhilarating, but you were compensated with the high path from Rothenbrunnen to Domat Ems. Didn't think that my battery (750Wh) would take part without recharging, it even had a remaining 120Wh. It was a lot of fun again today, even if the ascent from Chur is very long.

Today I used the free hours to go to my bike doctor in Schmerikon to reset my gear shift. Since my hours on the bike are rare at the moment, I have expanded the route a bit and am via Farner-Goldingertal-St. Gallenkappel in the direction of Schmerikon. On the way home I then took a nice and comfortable ride along the lake.

Today I completed the tour that I stopped in spring because there was still too much snow. In not bike-friendly conditions, I am from Näfels up to Schwamhöchi down along the Klöntalersee and then to the ascent towards the Längeneggpass. Sometimes it was quite muddy and boggy, especially the descent from the Längeneggpass towards Lachenalp was tough, sometimes it was a real slide on foot. As I said, there is no such thing as bad weather, there is only bad clothing .....
