I left the longest section until today because of the nicest sections of the canal. I know the Gargrave to Leeds route really well. However it did take longer than expected because of the two punctures. Poor Helena. However ever we changed the first one easy enough. The second one we had help from a passing stranger. We were so grateful. A big thankful to him. Arrived in Leeds after 127 miles over the three days in the dark and it had all got very cold. Thank you to Helenas partner Peter for taking us home

Wow what a day. 10 miles out if Wigan the heavens opened and just never stopped. Several miles of the towpath is narrow rusted groves. They were very muddy and hard work. I was shattered by the time I got to the hotel about 19.30. Well we thought about having an early night until the fire alarm went of at 22:50. There appeared to be one member of staff who ran around the hotel. Turned off the alarm and left us all outside. No checking of guests and the morning staff knew nothing about it. Early night and early start tomorrow 😴

Many diversions today on the Spen Valley Greenway. New lights are being installed which hopefull will make people feel safer on the darker night. On of the diversions took us though the Joe Cox Community Wood. A lovely memorial to a very brave lady taken far too soon. Helen Joanne Cox was a British politician who served as Member of Parliament for Batley and Spen from May 2015 until her murder in June 2016. She was a member of the Labour Party. Born in Batley, West Yorkshire, Cox studied Social and Political Sciences at Pembroke College, Cambridge

Lovely ride along the Calder greenway. It was very busy it seems everybody saw the sunshine and came to enjoy it. Thank Helena for joining me Fun Fact: Did you know that Muscovy Ducks are one of the oldest domesticated fowl species in the world!? And the Rochdale Canal hehe Feline Woodcraft Nanholme Mill, Shaw Wood Road, Todmorden OL14 6DA Really nice cafe with some weird and wonderful things to buy. Bespoke creations made with traditionally milled, reclaimed antique wood in our family run mill. Wood cut to traditional methods.

Conisbrough Viaduct is a former railway viaduct, near to Cadeby and Conisbrough in South Yorkshire, England. The viaduct consists of two sections of brick and stone on each bank, connected by a lattice girder section, some 113–116 feet over the River Don.

An evening of music lights and fire.

First off at, Enlightenment at Leeds City Museum. Fantastic light show to the music of Vivaldi's Four Seasons. Laid back on bean bags and taken through the seasons with stunning patterns and wonderful music

Then on to the Doncaster Balloon Festival. Yet another light
