Started Bike packing with my husband in our late 50's. We started riding the Greater Allegheny Passage (GAP) and C&O in 2017 and ride some or all of it every year since. It is a great trail for beginners especially if they camp. In 2019 we patched together parts of the Great American rail trail from Spokane to Missoula to Elkhorn Hot Springs, from there we roughly followed the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route to the Tetons. Then we rode the Trans America trail to Polaris, MT. We started taking the off road alternates and by the time we got to Elkhorn Hot Springs decided to switch to the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route. We were hooked on back road bike travel. Since then we try to get a couple of long distance bike trips every year, camping along the way whenever feasible.

Rim Trail Loop at Pinnacles National Park, It had considerable climbing and one sketchy section ducking under rocks while going down wet rock face. There was also the option of going through the Bear Gulch Cave, which would have had more rocks to duck under and required a headlamp

Very steep trail, hardly any flat sections. Nice views along the way. We would have gone further but didn't bring enough water.

This route goes from Shuttle bus stop 8 to Shuttle bus stop 10. There is a slight detour due to flooding, but it also took us up to the falls
