We are back in the Kaiserstuhl. Unfortunately Berthold is missing. It is already a tradition that we go to Staufen on the first day. It is exciting to see which route is used. We definitely haven't ridden today's one. The Texas Pass and the Vogelsang Pass must not be missing at the start. There is almost no other way in terms of the route :-). Then the following many stretches on small streets with lots of nature and more hm. By the way, we do almost all of that on the way there today. As always, there are 4 pieces of Black Forest cherry cake. We wait for Berthold - but unfortunately - before the cake goes bad, we split it into three parts. The way home is saved until shortly before Leiselheim - then I feel a little hunger that can only be satisfied with power spots. A nice start.

High percentage slopes on rest day. That does not really fit. It was only 75 km. Altogether we drove 5 ascents. In Emmendingen's starting from the village directly to the cause with the rise to Eichberg. Then slightly downhill to Keppenbach to Obersexau and the 18% to Gscheid high. Again only slightly downhill and then up to the Schwarzenberg. This increase is almost always in the double digits - but to drive evenly and leads very nicely through the forest. From the top you look at the Kandel. We recover on the descent to Reichenbach. Then it goes in the area around Freiamt easier rising and waves to Mundingen. At the end we leave the Schellinger mat from Bahlingen and the Texas Pass not lie. A "short day of rest" is over.

To anticipate it. Today is finally the Black Forest cherries cake in the Café Decker in Staufen. The rest is tourtechnisch low on the way back.
But now in turn: Traditionally, this morning, first over the Texas Pass to warm up (according to the motto "Texas Pass is always") followed by Vogelsangpass. Both well known and always nice to drive. On good wheeled cycle paths we "drive around" Freiburg to St. Georgen. At Leutersberg we branch off into the vineyards with Vogesenblick and very good surface, drive from Ebringen direction Wittnau, then through Sölden. Before Bollschweil it goes then direction Ortisei and to Geiersnest and over Horben to drill, where the increase to the Schauinsland follows. At km 62 we have (almost) all altitude behind us and it goes in a great descent through Münstertal to Staufen to the longed for pie. The way back over the Batzenberg (also vineyards) is great and the last coronation follows the Ihringer height with the Kreuzbuckpass. A great tour!
