This was the first part of the Gravelbike tour on Pentecost. The tour led us from Hamburg northwards to the Himmelmoor nature reserve and on to Elmshorn, where we took a lunch break. Well-fortified, we continued along the Krückau to its mouth and finally along the Elbe to Glücksstadt.

Today we did a great tour through the Bergisches region with the gravel bike. The route was challenging, but absolutely worth it.

Today the last tour to the train station.. sniffing a bit of city air by bike. The air was out! Good thing the tour (Part 1) was so short.

Today we had plenty of panorama on the agenda. And received a lot of respect for free.
From Westerholt we rode to Zeche Hugo and the Halde Rungenberg. Unfortunately, you can't see that much there anymore, but the dimensions are already... gigantic. From there, the route led us to Zeche Ewald, past the

Today's tour was all about trout, railway line paths, and the Wesel-Datteln Canal.
We rode along the Lippe on quiet paths, either on old railway lines or dyke paths. After lunch, we returned to Dorsten on gravel paths along the Wesel-Datteln Canal. A stop at the trout farm was a must!
Afterwards, following

Today's tour started in Haltern am See. From there, we were actually supposed to go into the Haard. But something went wrong when starting the navigation. Therefore, we were actually already on our way to Dorsten early in the morning. After driving 10 km for nothing, we realized: this is the wrong route

After a short coffee break at the Strandcafe on the Datteln-Hamm Canal, we decided to take the train to Dülmen to get to Haltern am See from here. The fresh (head)wind and the slightly aching knee convinced us more than anything else.

With significantly better weather than the previous day, we rode the Sesekeweg.
This route was certainly impressive in terms of landscape. First, the Körnebach accompanied us, later the Seseke, and finally, we rode a stretch along the Datteln-Hamm Canal.
After a short coffee break at the Strandcafe, we

The tour was planned to go from Werne to Lünen as originally indicated. Ultimately, we ended the tour in Lünen for the following reasons: We didn't find the highlights as exciting (as the day before). Furthermore, the wind increased to half hurricane strength and rain was threatening from 1 p.m. for

The template for the tour comes from "Radeln für die Seele - Ruhrgebiet". Here we chose the tour "Wassererlebnis - Hamm per Rad".
We took our time and stopped again and again to look at the places mentioned in the purchased guidebook. It was very well described and in our case everything was correct

After our arrival by train to Hamm, this was our way to the hotel, which is located in a suburb of Hamm. Small, cozy, nicely decorated and friendly staff. What more could you want?

From Glücksstadt, we drove to the ferry in radiant sunshine and blue skies. We only had to wait a short while here. The ferry trip.. a nice experience. On the other side of the Elbe, the route unfortunately led us for kilometers along the Elbe dike with a headwind. At some point, we had had enough and
