A very beautiful section of the Wiedweg with many varied paths and great views into the Wied valley. The view from the Weißenfelser Ley is a real highlight. I was able to observe numerous deer along the way – a few even allowed themselves to be photographed.

The loop is a combination of the Westerwaldsteig and the Rothaarsteig. I started at the Rothaarsteig hiking parking lot in the middle of Rabenscheid. The two trails cross at the Breitscheid airfield and later again at the Fuchskaute. Along the way, there is plenty of nature, varied paths, and always wonderful views.

A short, varied stage on the Wiedweg. I parked my car in Neustadt (Wied) and took the bus to the Westerwald‑Treff in Oberlahr. From there, it was straight on. This stage, along with the first, has been my favorite so far. The weather was perfect: sunny, warm, and simply ideal for hiking. The route leads along many beautiful paths, often through quiet forests and over hills. At the top, two observation towers await, offering fantastic views over the Lahn-Dill Uplands.
