Rheinsteig Hiking Project: The stage from Kamp-Bornhofen to Kestert is only 12 km long. Therefore, we decided to continue along the Rheinsteig through Oberkestert to the Pulsbach Gorge. From there, the trail descends through the idyllic gorge toward the Rhine. Before the railway tracks, we turned right

We did it! 21 kilometers and 710 meters of elevation gain! 28 kilometers of endurance training, in this heat... good training for the Eifel Wilderness Trail in July!

Our four-star NaTour took us south on the Rheinsteig from Braubach. We passed the Rhine towns of Osterspai and Filsen to Kamp-Bornhofen

Today, on Whit Monday, we walked a route around Eicks Castle with our Cologne hiking group. The trails led through varied terrain, although initially a large portion was on paved paths or roads. I liked the second part of the NaTour much better than part 1. At one point, the planned route was a bit off

After postponing the start of today's hike until lunchtime due to heavy rain in the morning, it was necessary to shorten the route somewhat. The main destination of our hike today was the orchid meadows of Lohrsdorf in the lower Ahr Valley, on the south-facing slope between Lohrsdorf and Bad Bodendorf

To kick off the NaLa e.V. conference, which was held in conjunction with an alumni reunion, we set out on a hike through the Gillesbach Valley. When Norbert and I planned the tour, we still expected dry weather. We started at Steinfeld Monastery, walked along the parking lot across the street to the

We did it! Our test hike before the big summer hike - done!!! Almost 22 km 💪🏻

Note: The track doesn't always follow the signs. It's better to follow them!

We also started at Blankenheim Wald train station.

A walk in the Wahn Heath - as always, beautiful and relaxing: A walk with friendly company through the Wahn Heath.

Even though the broom blossoms are coming to an end, nature still reveals itself in its delicate spring green. Particularly beautiful: the song of various birds accompanied us on all our
