De Eemsweg verlaat Warendorf via het Emsseepark vanwaar je een mooi uitzicht hebt op de rivier. De omgeving is weelderig groen. Je loopt door een essenlandschap met boerderijen en bossen op een heuvelrug langs de rivier. Zuidelijk van Harsewinkel kom je uit op een fietspad langs de Clarholzerstrasse. Deze één km lange weg is een druk deel van de tocht, maar zodra je de Eemsbrug oversteekt gaat het pad rechts het bos in. De bosweg eindigt bij de drukke B 513, die steek je over en dan wandel je door Marienfeld naar de bushalte bij het vroegere station waar deze etappe eindigd. De hoogtepunten van deze etappe zijn de stad Warendorf, het Emspark en het afwisselende parklandschap. In de bossen loop je deels over oude rivierduinen.
