Sunshine on stones at the magnificent Stanton Drew, but wasnt expecting the 2 mile rocky stream that is the Queen Charlton byway on the way back. Needed full suspension for that one! Another Komoot adventure.

Beautiful May day on the edge of the Cotswolds (via killer hills near Owlpen) followed by a lazy hazy descent into the Severn Vale. Turn left at Slimbridge and an idyllic towpath ride to the weirdness of Purton and strangeness of Sharpness. Colours of Spring: vibrant green growth, white hawthorn blossoms

Bluebells, wild garlic, mud and birdsong . Long overdue Spring clean for my system. Glorious trackways to and from the Barrow plus the most chilled canal-side ride. Glorious relaxation in lush empty countryside.

Bright February ride to Sharpness docks via Oldbury and Berkeley (and their looming nuclear power stations). Back in the 60s I would have been able to take the railway bridge across the Severn from Sharpness to Lydney.

Looks like a fun varied route. Some nice off road bridleways in there also? What are the grassy mounds you visited after Stanton drew stones? Also interesting you didn’t bother cycling through the gorge itself. Last time we went it was like an NCP car park. Bit depressing.

Some cracking off road sections between Wellow and Hinton Charterhouse plus a serene return along the Kennet and Avon canal.

Back from Northleach via Roman villa & road and neolithic tumps. Cotswold villages perched atop steep hillsides seem like Italy in the hazy sunshine. Killer hills out of Nailsworth and Owlpen though :-(

An homage to Kerry and Kurtan by way of William Morris and that old Fosse way...

Couldn't quite hear Rod Stewart as I cycled by but very tempted by those Cheddar Strawberries....
