About Stephen Parkinson
Moved to Bristol nearly 3 decades ago, a car addict. Drove for a week in the city and thought there must be a better way. Jumped on my first MTB in 1992 (thank you Matt) and the epiphany was complete. Love this city for its cycling culture, its stunning cyclescapes and, of course, the cycle peeps. I volunteer at Bristol Bike Project and work as an Active Travel advisor for Bristol City Council. Love touring/wild camping but seriously afeared of increasingly homicidal SUV drivers on narrow country lanes. Love Komoot for its quirky routes - an adventure every time!

      Sunshine on stones at the magnificent Stanton Drew, but wasnt expecting the 2 mile rocky stream that is the Queen Charlton byway on the way back. Needed full suspension for that one! Another Komoot adventure.

      Beautiful May day on the edge of the Cotswolds (via killer hills near Owlpen) followed by a lazy hazy descent into the Severn Vale. Turn left at Slimbridge and an idyllic towpath ride to the weirdness of Purton and strangeness of Sharpness. Colours of Spring: vibrant green growth, white hawthorn blossoms

      Bluebells, wild garlic, mud and birdsong . Long overdue Spring clean for my system. Glorious trackways to and from the Barrow plus the most chilled canal-side ride. Glorious relaxation in lush empty countryside.
