Although there is a road closed set of signs on the Sheepway (scheduled until the end of November) for bridge repairs this route branches off onto the adjacent cycle path and is therefore not affected by the road closed signs.

The Westerleigh Road is closed at the Shire Way junction and although I managed to sneak through the work site on a Sunday, during the week it would be impossible. One option is to turn right onto Shire Way and then left onto Rodford Way which will bring you back to the roundabout where you can join

Quarhouse Lane is very steep, there are alternative routes to Stancombe which are much easier.

Climb out of Wotton, just past Ragnall on Blackquarries Hill is steep (saw 22% on Garmin) but once you clear the tree canopy it eases off significantly. The climb out of Nailsworth on the 'W' is similar.
