Bretton Clough, Stoke Ford, Jubilee Planation from the Barrell Inn
Spectacular scenery, but steep descent and ascents. Some tricky stiles for arthritic knees and hips but a glorious walk at a steady pace. Barrell Inn is not dog friendly.

Bestood Country Park circuit from Lodge Gardens
Good walk. Decent paths just a bit wet over pit top. Passing the colliery headstock at the Winding House, open on Saturday mornings with the cafe; Alexandra Lodge and Bestwood Lodge Hotel.

Good dry winter dog walk. No sheep but deer still. Excellent, but expensive coffee and cake in Stables tea room.

A good flat walk. Generally good paths through Forestry Commssion land. 2 crossings over A60.

All good paths. Only very short road section on Moor Lane. No stiles.

Blore Hall to Ilam village and circuit around Ilam Park
Very wet underfoot and path alongside River Manifold closed for maintenance in Ilam Park. Arduous climb back up to Blore but fabulous views

Blue route Longshaw Estate
Good route. Boggy up to White Lodge but otherwise good paths. Just 2 roads to cross.

Beeston Heritage Centre to Attenborough Visitor Centre & return
Same route there and back. Good paths, not muddy. Alternative route around lakes at Attenborough fine for dry summer days.
