Zia main parking to Mount Dikeos (and back)▪️Kos, GR
- Getting anywhere closer to the trail with a small 2WD rental car is quite challenging. The roads there are very narrow, steep and dusty. I tried, but finally returned to the main parking.
- That fist "dashed shortcut" was very tempting, but it looked more like a bouldering problem…

Combining these two attractions in one hike is completely doable as a half-day activity. There is one small free parking, which must be already full in the early morning. Otherwise, other parkings charge 6 euro for a dayil ticket (in 2026).

Honestly, this hike didn't convince me. At a similar length and vertical meters, walking around the Chinyero volcano was so much better.
The 3km dirt road to the starting point is doable with any car (we saw lots of Seat Ibizas and Fiat Pandas). Then you start walking a path…

Honestly, this hike didn't convince me. At a similar length and vertical meters, walking around the Chinyero volcano was so much better.
The 3km dirt road to the starting point is doable with any car (we saw lots of Seat Ibizas and Fiat Pandas). Then you start walking a path that's kind of in a forest
