Lier - Aarschot - Leuven - Brussels
Quick ride to fill in a few gaps in the network, particularly in the Leuven and Aarschot areas and some "map paintings" in Brussels. Unfortunately, most of the planned route along the Demel was closed off for the Aarschot Triathlon on that day.

VTT Tilburg, Chaamse Boosen, Kempen & Bel Lintje
Using the “Bel Lintje” as an access route to three wonderfull MTB trails. Kilometers-long slalom trails through the woods—especially the ones up near Tilburg, where they’re in an absolut perfect condition. It feels endless and just beautiful. Not technically demanding, but with a continuous flow—making it perfect for this kind…

Binges, Charleroi, Gembloux, La Hulpe
Tour to fill in some gaps on the map. Between Binges and Charleroi, the last part of the “local” Ravel L147 (Section Sombreffe–Gembloux) and from Gembloux to Ottignies/LLN. This time, a somewhat more in-depth visit to Charleroi, focusing in particular on a few metro stations.

VTT Schleife Lontzen, Vaalserberg & Aachen
Based on the East Belgian official MTB tour “Lontzen in einer Schleife,” extended via the Vaalserberg to Aachen and then back along the original tracks. Unfortunately, several trails along the marked route have been so washed out by rainwater that riding is no longer possible—the ruts are too deep but…

Abdij van Herkenrode
A short evening tour to the old Herkenrode Abbey. Construction of the ‘Clausura’ installation – a replica of the main church that burned down 200 years ago – is now complete, though all the surrounding features are still missing.

VTT The Ramp of Dessel - White Mountain Trail
A combination of the Campinaroutes Dessel Red and Green and the ‘White Mountain Trail’ from Mol. (Whatever the name is based on, I didn’t see any mountains – let alone white ones...). There’s a very high proportion of woodland and, above all, a great many superbly laid-out and well-maintained trails…

Port of Antwerp & Schelde-Rijnkanaal
A tour trough the Port of Antwerp, along the Scheldt-Rhine Canal via Bergen op Zoom to the canal’s final bridge, and back again on the other side. I’d actually planned just a short ride around the harbour to relax from last weekend tours, but I just couldn’t resist to do…

Day 2: Luxembourg Southern Borders
Unfortunately, only managed to achieve the minimum goal: butthe circuit around Luxembourg is completed now (four laps in total). Acutal plan was to to go on from Esch via Pettingen to Arlon, but the sweltering heat made it impossible to continue on what was largely an open, unprotected stretch of…

Day 1: Luxembourg Eastern Border & Saar
enultimate stage of the tour around Luxembourg. Starting in Govy, the ‘Roder von Dasburg’ descent down from the Ardennes (absolutely fantasticride...) past Vianden Castle and continuing all along the border rivers between Luxembourg and Germany, Our and Sauer. At the Wasserbillig crossing the Moselle with the "Sankta Maria II"-ferry, a…

VTT Jodoigne, Tervuren, Brussels
A fairly leisurely cross-country ride via Jodoigne, abouve Wavre and then trough the woods near Tervuren (ticked off a few more new trails there), and via the Roode Klooster to Brussels.
A very high proportion of off-road riding, and I finally discovered some beautiful new small trails.

VTT Wavre, Ottignies, Lasne, Hallerbos
After setting off from Wavre, first a longer detour to the MTB Parc in Ottignies for a little bit of training. Afterwards to finish all those sections of the ‘Boucles de Lasne’ -Tour on which, on my first attempt last year, I had missed due to a navigation mistake and…

North Sea coast & border BE/FR
A ride along the Belgian coast including a two ferry crossing (unfortunately on that one in Nieuwpoort with a very long waiting time). Heavy winds. Fortunately in the direction of travel, but due to the whipped up sand on some parts not possible to ride on the promenade itself and…

Meuse Liegé -Namur & Ligne 147
A short ride from Liège along the Meuse via Huy to Namur. From there, unplanned and spontanously on to Gembloux and the Ravel route of the former railway line 147.
Given that the route is, after all, designated as part of Euroravel 3, the section between Seraing and Engis is…
