Run a little more lap with the dog and found the second highest mountain in Dietzenbach!

A great path with beautiful highlights on the subject of water, springs, rivers and lakes.

The Romäus fountain in Unterkirnach is a popular drinking water fountain that is used on a large scale to supply water. Even today I could not take a free picture and had to fall back on an archive picture. The tour runs for the most part on car-free or poorly traveled roads and paths. The inclines are manageable with a little help and support. All in all very recommendable!

The original plan was to circumnavigate the southwestern part of the Offenbach district. But the construction site of Terminal 3, combined with the necessary road works, new bridges, entrances to and from the A5 cost me almost an hour of pointless and sometimes dangerous construction site cucumber. Currently, the cycle paths through the construction site are either closed or no longer available at all. By chance I found an exit from the labyrinth at some point and suddenly and unexpectedly stood in front of the Airlift Memorial. But with that my schedule was blown and I rescheduled on the way so as not to come into the night. The 2nd part of the tour will be rescheduled as soon as possible.

Today a wonderful tour completely through forest and field, along the Main and many highlights of the regional park route. The Regional Park Information Center was unfortunately closed today, which will definitely make me visit again soon! Unfortunately, a short port of call could not be avoided, but the stairs were quickly overcome. Otherwise really very interesting and varied!

Unfortunately, I wasn't paying attention when I chose this Komoot tour suggestion. More than half of the route started directly or even on not particularly lightly traveled roads. However, this was indicated in the tour description, so it's my own fault.
But despite everything, I was able to enjoy a great lunch at the Naturfreundehaus Moret in Dieburg and an ice cream sundae in Münster. The weather was wonderful for an excursion and the beginning and end of the tour were on quiet paths and through cool wooded areas. But a lot would have to be rescheduled for a repetition.

As I announced yesterday, it was not possible for me to get hold of a bicycle space on the ICE from Regensburg. So I had to move to Nuremberg. The first plan was to cover the route by bike. That would have been another 110 km and almost 1,000 vertical meters. And all of this with the time pressure to be at the Nuremberg train station for the scheduled departure of the booked train. But after sunny weather was finally announced today, the risk of such a "violent action" under time pressure without long breaks at high temperatures was simply too great for me. I'm not that young and healthy anymore 😎. Therefore another plan has matured. This morning I took a regional express to Nuremberg and then passed the time gained there with a shorter and more relaxed tour.
The tour went along the Pegnitz, over Maxbrücke to Wöhrdersee, a wonderful local recreation area at the gates of Nuremberg and in a wide arc over Fürth (here the fans flocked to the Bundesliga game against Bielefeld) back to Nuremberg. So I was able to enjoy the last day before the train brought me back to Hessen with its half-hour delay.

Today was the last day along the Altmühl. The Altmühl and the Danube flow together at Kelheim. Then I'm about 40 km along the Danube to Regensburg. Unfortunately, I did not start the recording in the morning, so that about 10 km of the route are not saved. The total distance would have to be increased by 10km, if you want to plan the tour as well. All in all, the whole thing was very recommendable and relaxing. I would have loved to take the train back from Regensburg. But unfortunately there weren't any free places for bicycles, so tomorrow I have to go to Nuremberg before the train takes me 😎

Today was the most scenic part of the Altmühltal cycle path so far. Very long passages on the river that is slowly increasing in size. This part is also completely used by canoe tourists. Since the river flows very slowly, it is probably ideal for leisurely paddlers. You should take your time for the cities of Eichstätt, Bellngries and Dietfurt, as they have a lot to offer. But it takes time to really enjoy everything.

Today was the first day of the Altmühltal cycle path. The start was in Rothenburg, the end of the stage was in Treuchtlingen. Despite the sometimes threatening clouds, the weather was great, apart from a few splashes. The route was a bit difficult at the beginning, but later changed to a calm and relaxed route. I only saw the Altmühl itself for the first time after 24 km, apart from the Hornauer Weiher spring.
