Perfect loop to end a very gruelling, challenging and highly satisfactory hiking season ! There were no challenging hills to conquer this time…but the loop was beautiful, peaceful and therapeutic! 😀 The only drawback was that, the Seafood Shack was still not open for business by the time we finished….we aimed for 6km/hr (target) and hence finished in 2hrs 35mins… We will be back next season (2026) ..hoping to start late so we can end it all with some seafood 🤣 Great season!..,but I am not signing off…will be doing local loops until the team gets back in March 2026 to start a new season of challenging hikes….👊💪

Radyr (Rah-dir)….what can I say ?
We loved every bit of Radyr (Rah-dir), Taffs Well….etc
For some of us, this was our first time in Wales 🏴
The Loop had everything we wanted….
• The Garth Hill (Mynydd y Garth) at just over 1,000ft was perfect 👌…just as were the equally challenging descents

A bit of a misadventure today…
Two of our gallant team members picked up injuries during the hike…fortunately they are both on the mend now 👍….
Phone reception in Peaslake was almost non-existent which adversely impacted the Komoot App….
The Trail…..
• Excellent Loop with the right mix of steep hills
The Town...Berkhamstead!....another beautiful town in Hertfordshire !
The Trail...apart from a few slow burners (Hills), it was generally ok with respect to inclines...nothing @ Team Acorn couldnt manage 😀

Season 2025 finale! Team Acorn's 2025 Hiking Season drew to a successful close this weekend (the rest of the team will finish tomorrow -Sunday).
Epping forest was nice and peacful...the loop was not challenging though (cue - intermediate categorization).
The plan was to finish the 15.5km in 2.5hrs
