As you start your second day on the Kalalau Trail, you can enjoy a calm moment on the beach and then a short walk up the inland trail behind the Kalalau campsites to the Ho‘o‘lea Falls. This is a good place to top off water before heading back to the trailhead.

The Kalalau Trail is an 11-mile path that showcases the emerald cliffs, sea caves, waterfalls, and pristine, remote beaches of the Nā Pali Coast, on the north end of Kauaʻi. It is a challenging hike, full of narrow dirt and rock paths, steep climbs and descents, exposed cliff ledges, and stream crossings

Section 4 leads you along the Mogadore section of the Buckeye Trail and takes you into one of northeastern Ohio’s higher ridgelines, marked by subtle elevation and glacial landforms. It picks up at the Headwaters Trail in the Eagle Creek basin and passes through boggy terrain in the Cuyahoga drainage

This 250-mile loop around the northeastern corner of the larger, Ohio-wide, Buckeye Trail runs through 5 of its 26 sections, showing off some of the best of Ohio’s northeastern terrain. It is a challenging and fun section that follows the Buckeye Trail’s blue blazes over glaciated ridges, greenways

Section 10 continues north along the Miami-Erie Canal, where you will pass Deep Cut Park, a hand-dug channel nearly 6,600 feet long. You will also pass through the towns of Delphos and New Bremen, which have plenty of options for lodging and resupply.

From here, the Buckeye Trail leads deeper into rural southeast Ohio, running through Guernsey, Noble, and Morgan Counties. The terrain becomes more rugged and hilly, with a lot of quiet country roads, but some sections run through state parks, wildlife areas, and reservoir lands. On road walking sections
