A beautiful hike in the Eichsfeld region, enjoying perfect autumn hiking weather. The intense, opulent autumn colors often made us stop and simply marvel. The sweet scent of the dry autumn leaves evoked childhood memories, and the act of building leaf burrows came alive again.
Another hike we did before

Even on the last day of our vacation, we couldn't keep our feet still 😉. A relaxing, enjoyable hike, starting from the Tulper Hof parking lot, over the Lüsener Alm. We like this one much better because it's more authentic than the rather overly stylized Seiser Alm.
Next time, though, we'd take the direct

Anyone who's already reached the summit should also take a walk around the Sassari Pass. A 13-km-long "Roda de Pütia" (Peitler Pass) in perfect hiking weather. The starting point was the paid hiking car park at the Würzjoch Pass. Following a well-maintained and signposted path, which later merged into

A leisurely Sunday hike along the Swiss stone pine trail. The starting point was the hiking car park at Kalkofen. The trail initially led along the Lasankenbach stream, then continued to the right over the Gampenwiesen meadows, climbing steadily but gently. Via the Halslhütte, it then descended to the

After yesterday's regeneration, today's guided tour continues. Villnöß Valley, Geislerspitzen, home of Reinhold Messner. We started from the Zanser Alm, ascending to the Gampen Alm, and after a short rest, continued to the quite impressive Schlüterhütte. From there, it was another 100 meters of elevation

Today, a guided tour to the Peitlerkofel. It had snowed overnight down to 2,000 meters. From the Würzjoch pass, we climbed to the Peitlerkofel saddle and continued through the snow to the summit. We had a snack at the top, but it was 🐖 cold 😉. Still, it was a lot of fun.

Second tour in the Lüsental Valley. We ascended from the hiking car park 3 at Schwaiger Böden in Oberflitt via the Einhäuserer Alm to the Astjoch (2,194 m). From there, we had a fantastic panoramic view of the Fanes and Sexten Dolomites, the Hohe Tauern, and the Zillertal Alps. The descent took us along

Nice tour @Jens B. However, you walked part of the panoramic trail through Belrieth, Vachdorf, Leutersdorf, and Henfstädt. And that one isn't in the Rhön Mountains. The fortified church in Vachdorf really deserves a visit too. Maybe next time. 🙋
