For the sunrise on Pico Ruivo - the highest mountain on Madeira. Picked up at 04:00 at the hotel. Carlos would even have had headlamps and thick jackets with him.

First booked excursion to the 25 Springs. Pick-up directly at the hotel and with overcast skies we went up to Rabaçal (1278m). Thought it couldn't be that bad, as it was downhill..... well, narrow paths directly on the edge and only secured by sometimes flimsy rope safeguards. But despite a severe fall (the safeguard was inaccessible due to a fallen tree 🌳). What a cool trail. Note: NO sneakers even for a presumably easy hike
