About PJD66
Many routes near Aviemore can easily be linked with (parts of) others if you're after longer or more varied rides. Whether you're visiting, on a cycling holiday in Scotland, or local to the area, these routes are great for discovering new trails or riding familiar ones in a fresh way.
Videos of the rides can be found on my YouTube channel, 'Cycling in the Scottish Highlands'. Check the video descriptions for more detailed route info, Strava and Komoot GPX links, bike hire, café stops, and cycle-friendly accommodation.
I'm also beginning to explore more of the magnificent Highlands and Islands — so stay tuned!

A variant of a great gravel ride which has the classic steep and tough ascent, but it has a different, more rocky descent with amazing views and a lovely long run-out. A splendid little 10km loop follows, before heading back to Aviemore via a lesser-used Kinveachy - High Burnside return route.

A great autumn gravel loop from Aviemore. Starting on the Speyside Way, going through Gartenbeg Plantation, Dell Woods, Abernethy Forest, Tulloch Moor and Knock of Kincardine, before heading back to Aviemore along the River Spey and the Pine Marten Trail.
