St. Margrethen-Schloss Wartegg (Rohrschach). Es ist schon fast langweilig, wiederum zu sagen, es sei ein heißer Tag. Dieser Dürresommer. Die Birken im Rheintal haben alle verdorrte Blätter, sind braun. Habe ich noch nie gesehen.
Die Strecke am Alten Rhein war schön.

Vaduz-Feldkirch lohnt sich, schöner Veloweg (Nr. 35). Danach nicht besonders berauschend. Oberriet SG-St. Margrethen mit Zug, da verpasst man nichts.

Von St. Gallen in den fürstlichen Backofen
St.Gallen-Trogen-Ruppenpass-Altstätten-Vaduz. In Oberriet kapitulieren wir vor der Hitze und nehmen den Zug bis Buch SG.
Schöne Appenzeller Hügel auf verkehrsarmer Hauptstraße. Ruppenpass einsam, aber es fährt ein Postauto. Dunstiges, heißes Rheintal. Tolle Jugi in Vaduz.

Heimreise mit der Deutschen Bahn
10 Stunden von Mannheim nach Bern. Inklusive 20 km Fahrt mit dem Velo von Riegel am Kaiserstuhl nach Freiburg, weil der Zug in Riegel strandete. In Freiburg alle Züge nach Basel gestopft voll, kein Platz für Velos.

Berka-Bad Hersfeld
Heiße 30 Grad. Entlang der Werra, abwechslungsreich. Ländlich. Zwischen Thüringen und Hessen wechselnd. Netter Radlerstopp „zur weißen Dame“ vor Bad Hersberg. Hübsches Städtchen, Heilbad und Festspiele in der Klosterruine. Ziemlich viel los.

Wangenheim-Eisenach-innerdeutsche Grenze-Berka
Just an der innerdeutschen Grenze trafen wir ein Mann, der als 20jähriger bei Lauchröden 1975 durch die Werra flüchtete und jetzt nachsehen wollte, wo das genau war. Er erzählte uns davon, in Details, selbst noch ganz erstaunt, dass er es überlebte.

Sehr kühl. Wir fahren langarmig und langbeinig, windig. Auf dem Campingplatz in Erfurt hängen die Wolken dunkelgrau. Höchsttemperatur heute 18 Grad.
