The gentle climb east of Forstern is worth it, the view over the Munich gravel plain is truly impressive.

The ramp from the St. Johanner side up to the Rettenberg is short but it packs a punch. Especially towards the end it gets really steep, before you are rewarded with a fine panoramic view.
