About Kohnen Heike

We planned to run 6-7 km – but it ended up being almost 15 km.
The temperatures were ideal and motivation was high. It was actually supposed to be a shorter route, as my companion had pelvic surgery just four weeks ago. But things went surprisingly well along the way – certainly thanks in part to the

Today I had a headache and didn't want to walk far. So I chose a short route around DeWitt Lake—beautiful, easy to reach, and with plenty of parking. About 5-6 km, perfect for the heat and a heavy head. The brackish water on the first stretch stank pretty bad. And of course, my ring fell off the post

13 kilometers through heath, forest, and sand in De Meinweg National Park. Flat as a pancake, but easy to walk. No mountains, no drama—just nature.
Typical flatland heath landscape. Not one for the summit register, but ideal for unwinding.
20 degrees, light wind, perfect.

What a fantastic tour 🥰. A beautiful trail with stunning views. And a huge variety of flowers.
I highly recommend the cheese dumpling soup at the Alpenrose.
And when we arrived back at the Grawandhütte, we were surprised by a thunderstorm.

A short, brisk, and truly scenic hike at the Durlass Reservoir/Gerlos. A few waterfalls, many streams, and a steady climb.
I enjoyed it 🥰

I took my time, and it was a really nice walk. I liked the downhill part the most; it was rocky and scenic.
In Pulciano, there's a great bar/gelateria called "Halleluja." The affogato was amazing.

4 hours on the road. 2 hours of walking. At the end, my head felt a little clearer.
The scenery wasn't that exciting, but it was still a nice hike.
The air was very good today, and it wasn't too hot.

A beautiful tour through the Birgel Forest. The weather cooperated, we had a lot of fun, and it was just perfect all around. The anthills were particularly exciting – they give you a little tingle just standing next to them.
