Word to the wise... part of the trail around the Reservoir has been closed so you can't go directly from the car park. You just need to walk parallel before joining the original trail. "Quirky Tunnel" or Old House Tunnel is signposted to take you under the Longdendale Trail to a path that runs closer
Fancying a leg stretch but not keen on wading through bogs or mud... this route was ideal. Good tracks and quiet roads. On leaving Chinley Railway Station, take the road to the left. While it does appear that there is a lane cutting across fields if you take the road to the right, it's actually a private
