With the temperature still pleasant in the morning, we took side roads to Lake Ammersee in Utting. The lake was wonderfully refreshing. We stopped off at the nearby lakeside pavilion. The food was good and reasonably priced. The service was very friendly and helpful.

It's been lovely here 😀😀👍🍺

Eight cyclists set off at 8:45 a.m. to the Goldberg Alm. It was a fun, interesting tour on beautiful trails. Thanks to tour guide "Max" for the excellent planning and guidance. It's certainly a treat to have the tour pre-ridden and "optimized" for the group.

In a cool 14 degrees Celsius, we took the Wasserleitungsweg (water pipe path) to the royal Bleckenau mountain inn. Then the sun came out, and we were able to enjoy roast pork and spaghetti on the terrace. The return trip took us over the closed road and past the castle through the crowds of tourists

A classic in the Ammergau mountains. A decent number of kilometers, tough climbs, pushing sections, and stream crossings. A detour to the Wies for a half-mile. Simply a dream. And the isolation in this magnificent landscape.

On the last day, we started cycling from the hotel, making a short detour to Arles to see Van Gogh's famous drawbridge. From there, we headed to the Camargue, circling the Etang de Vaccarès lagoon. In addition to 400 bird species, you can also see the white Camargue horses in the wild, as well as the

Following in Van Gogh's footsteps through a charming, colorful, cultivated landscape. After a lunch break in Maussanne-les-Alpilles, we visit the rock city of Les Baux, the region's most famous viewpoint (and correspondingly popular with visitors). Afterwards, we take a detour to Arles for a stroll through

On day four, we circled Mont Ventoux, the Tour de France's mountain of destiny. After some long climbs and a lunch break in Sault (be warned about menus featuring local sausages containing offal), we reached the beautiful Nesque Gorge with stunning views and a very long descent (without braking). We started early on the first day: getting up at 1:25 a.m., driving to Kempten, and punctually departing by bus at 4:29 a.m....

A leisurely warm-up cycle on the Rhône Cycle Path on the first day from Montelimar to our first hotel in Pont St. Esprit.
