Accommodation in Bad Iburg:
Eibenhaus -Appartement
Rathausstraße 25
Opposite, in the Italian restaurant "La Cascata" I had dinner.
On a short round through the town I looked into the Clock Museum, found the Thingplatz in front of the castle, circled the Knotengarten and came across a newly created apple

The Iburg is an almost 1000-year-old hilltop castle, which was expanded into a magnificent residence for the Prince-Bishops of Osnabrück during the Baroque period.
This is where the district court is located, and in front of the wrought-iron gate to the complex lies the old Thingplatz (called Dingplatz

After my late arrival in Bad Iburg, I first showered and shopped for breakfast - mindful of the Uhrenmuseum's opening hours until 6:00 PM.
However, I had saved the information incorrectly - the museum closes at 5:00 PM.
At 5:05 PM, I stand in front of the door and meet the owner of this clock treasure

Today's stage was grueling, the constant ascents and descents challenged me - and the weather didn't help: fine, drizzly rain with jacket on/jacket off, tried a cape: too warm/umbrella/cap.... the air temperature was simply too high for rain gear!!!
My mood kept getting worse!!!

Hagen A.T.W. is known as a village of potters and cherries.
I enter the town center and am greeted by the statue of the market trumpeter.
Passing the St. Martinus Church, which is now only used as an event space, I reach my booked accommodation in the center of Hagen:
Boardinghaus "Sorgenfrei"
Dorfstr

In my apartment there is a brochure about the cherry hiking trails. 3 different lengths are offered: 4 km/6.5 km/10.5 km and a cycling route of 29 km.
I don't want to walk for quite so long anymore, but I can't find the start of route No. 1.
So I take No. 2, which I then shorten a bit...

A dry, lightly overcast, meteorological autumn day in 2026 🍁🍁🍁 and I'm starting again with a longer long-distance hike over 5 days.
My husband takes me to Bad Iburg and at the start of the treetop path, I begin the 1st stage to Hagen A.T.W..
This 1st loop of the "lying eight" is the western route that

Since June 2026, the inn BIENENSCHMIDT in Kalkreute Hörste/Stapelage on the Hermannsweg has reopened after renovation.
This inn, located in a lonely spot in the middle of the forest, with its over 60-year history, is as much a part of the Lipperland as Pickert, Grünkohl, Wurstebrei, and Steckrüben.

Der ZEDLINGSWEG
Der meteorologische Herbstanfang zum 1. September ist zwar erst in einer Woche - dennoch, mein Spaziergang heute mutet deutlich herbstlich an 🍁🍂🍃🕸

I thought I knew every path in my home zone!!
Today I was taught otherwise!!
The Zedling is well known to me from our running laps around Donoper, Bent and in Hiddesen, but as the namesake for the entire trail - it only appears quite towards the end of the route.
The elevation of the Zedling at 226m is

We completed the cycling tour for Paula Modersohn-Becker's 150th birthday and now have to cycle about 10 km back to our car.
It is unharmed in the hotel car park on the outskirts of Lilienthal.
This round trip adds more kilometers to the odometer. The cycling tour is listed as 109 km.
I take many impressions

Our last stage begins with rain and it will last for the next 3 hours...
We are again walking along old oak avenues - we also often see the red/white barrier tapes tied around the oaks: Beware of processionary caterpillars!!
Pasture farming, horse meadows, old farms and homesteads accompany us.

Walking through Worpswede, you encounter art in many forms - on every corner!!!
The Bergstrasse is "populated" with sculptures by 7 contemporary female artists as part of "Art in Public Spaces".
Paula Modersohn-Becker's early words on artistic search - "The simplicity of form" were then a confession as

The ensemble of Kaffee Worpswede (1924) and Grosser Kunstschau (1927), built by Bernhard Hoetker, is an outstanding architectural work of Expressionism.
The Kunstschau collection displays works by the founding generation of Worpswede (including Heinrich Vogeler, Fritz Mackensen, Carl Vinnen, Paula Modersohn

After my husband and I strolled through the town a bit after dinner, the knee pain returned and E. shortened the route and went back to the hotel.
In the evening light, I walk up the Lindenallee, over 2 km long and with 3 rows, towards Barkenhoff.
To the right rises the Weyerberg, and on the left side
