On the way back, we first took the pedestrian ferry across the river and then decided that we would rather cycle back to the other side of the river through the pedestrian tunnel. We were able to cycle along the river in sections.

Back to the coast, leaving the wonderful Lake District behind. First we had a couple of uphills to master before it was easy downhill on former railway tracks to Workington and then on to Maryport.

Short ride to avoid sitting around all day waiting for the announced rain. Along the little-used, hilly road with lake views to Buttermere and back. Nice trip.
