Ardgartan, Duke's Path, Lochgoilhead with a bit more gravel

A route of SIX parts: 1) South from Ardgartan on good forest gravel tracks. 2) North to Lochgoilhead from Corran Lochan- great single track start then rough paths in forest (surface seems to have deteriorated but fallen trees cleared) with some hike a bike. 3) Good forest track north (right) leading to great view of Lochgoilhead. Brief descent west into Lochgoilhead from good track going north was bad, remain on good track for about 200m more and look for something better than the signposted path at the gate that we used. 4) Pub/restaurant/cafe stop https://www.visitscotland.com/info/food-drink/the-goil-inn-restaurant-p803101 or https://www.shorehouselochgoilhead.co.uk/ 5) Lochgoilhead to Rest and be Thankful - following a fantastic forest gravel path ( https://www.komoot.com/highlight/3893135 and although it is a path, surprisingly it is on Google Street View, see https://maps.app.goo.gl/cQ3pMVNVUVTCPfXD7 ) to Drymsiniebeg then back down the road to brutal gravel climb up to Rest And Be Thankful. 6) Gravel descent east to Ardgartan, includes some climbing and rough gravel sections (i.e. quarry rubble!). 3, 5 & 6 were the "extra" bits of gravel we'd not done before or not for a while. If travelling by car Ardgartan Visitor Centre car park is a good place to start the route. https://forestryandland.gov.scot/visit/forest-parks/argyll-forest-park/ardgartan Alternatively you can travel by rail to/from Arrochar & Tarbet station. Possibly more suitable for MTB than gravel bike and a route to be done clockwise so rougher stuff is done descending.

A little more exploration around the southern edge of windfarm by inclusion of Calder Water Wind Farm and High Aldestocks possibly makes this route too much wind farm and not as nice as komoot.com/tour/2083847296 which follows komoot.com/highlight/7310357 and komoot.com/highlight/3303464.
