Blackwood & Strathaven Loop
Needed something from Argos and of course only the Strathaven branch had it, so incorporated it in to my route today. Very windy, especially on the road up to Strathaven past Sandford.

Pootle round the park with my sister and nephew
Both just got new bikes, Trek FX1 for my sister and Carrera Hellcat for my nephew, so met them to show them the cycle paths out and round Strathy. Very gentle ride but a lovely day.

Canal and Kelvin paths, out via Bellshill and Coatbridge
Lovely day and great ride up until I hit Kelvinbridge, idiot central from there with people blocking the cycle paths, ignoring bells and refusing to move.

Took advantage of a break in the expected rain to go and vote then get out for an hour on the bike

Whitelee wind turbines loop from Glasgow
Legs weren't having it today, no big hills but struggled up most of them anyway. Lovely day and lovely roads, the section past Whitelee Windfarm is well worth a visit (on a nice day!)

Glassford, Strathaven, EK Loop
Lovely day albeit still a little breezy and a few puddles around, so wearing a white jersey wasn't the best plan. Back roads from Strathaven to EK are lovely to ride on, mostly smooth, low hedges so good visibility and very little traffic.

It's rare that karma gives such instant results, but as I passed the bus stop outside Hamilton Central an idiot in an Audi close passed me as I was going past a bus. He obviously heard my "pleasantries" and stopped to shout at me. Being a classy guy he then tried to spit at me through his passenger

Drumsagard Loop
Bit chilly at times with the wind, especially out of the sun, but had to take advantage of it being dry to get out for a bit and not be stuck on MyWhoosh.

Quarter Road Loop
Lovely day, arm warmers on for about the first 15 minutes then down to just shorts and jersey. Lots of other cyclists and horse riders about, only surprise is naebody was taps aff. 😂

Sun shining and as warm as it gets for February so got the road bike out for the first time since November.
Forgot how much less pressure hydraulic brakes take to apply, and how nice DI2 shifting is!

What a difference a week makes. Frozen canals, thermal bib tights, full overshoes and winter jacket replaced with a little bit of sun, shorts and leg warmers, jersey and gilet and toe covers.

Canal, Drumpellier Country Park, Coatbridge Loop
Chilly one but at least dry. Lots of work been done on the paths, NCN 74 has had a cleaning crew on it and NCN 75 has a new path section where you leave the road to the Monklands Canal, used to be an absolute quagmire there.

Chilly but stayed dry despite a wee threat to rain at the start. First time I've been to the old AA Battery since the paths and roads were upgraded, much better now they're gravel rather than dirt.

Thanks to Komoot, White Loch was one of my recommended highlights for this week and it's lovely there. Quite a few cars parked and there were people on the water enjoying the weather.
