Last day today, route was a little bit more interesting than yesterday although my imagination of stopping for coffee and pastry in all the little villages disappeared when I was told it was a holiday and everything was closed. There was also a severe lack of cafes. Seems like rural Alsace has suffered the fate of so many rural areas. It just had no life, no shops, no people and no Brasserie. Getting into Basel for as fun and I was impressed to see some seriously well developed cycling infrastructure and car drivers who respect cyclist! Top marks Basel.

First proper day following the EV 15, along the Rhein canal. Very flat and very straight. It then got very hot. Was able to set of early and get to camp by around 2pm to cool down and get out of the sun.

Easy day today. Went over to Strasbourg, had a look around and some lunch. Very hot though. 33 I saw on the wahoo at one point, felt hotter than that. Tomorrow I start up the Rhein valley.

Less than 600 meters of climbing today, great I thought, I didn't look to closely at the topo. Probably a good idea, punchy gradients of 13% , after yesterday it was like trying to cycle up a wall. But I made it past the climbs and enjoyed the beautiful descent to camp. Thermometer ony wahoo was showing 34 when on the cycle path at the end. Hot.
