Last day of cycling on our route from Venice to Trieste. Komoot and Google send us down a short cut to the main road which led to a gated, private road. Luckily, the woman living on the estate just came home in her car and gave us access. Luckily - or not?! I don't think the nice lady has ever ridden

The camping spot looked lovely and we camped amongst some old oak trees, however, it is infact sandwiched between two highways and there is a freight train line that runs right next to it.. So not the best nights sleep. We had a slow morning with only 17 or so km to do but set off in Good time (ish

Early start as the afternoons are getting hot again and we wanted to make good progress in the morning. First part of the journey was really nice along cycle ways and really quiet almost deserted back roads (apart from the odd cyclist).
We stopped for coffee at Monfalcone and I was beat. Ordered coffee

We set off nice and early. The first part of the route was just gorgeous. First, going along the Laguna on a very nice, smooth asphalt cycling path. Then cycling on a dam, overlooking the glittering sea along the coast line. I was thinking to myself that this was probably my favourite section of this

Today, we just cycled a few kilometres south to the next campsite and beach for Max to have some sand to play in. The ride was very short and pretty, taking us over the thin bit of land through the glittering sea to the side of Gardo, where we stopped for some coffee.
