September 14, 2025 - Open Monument Day!
First, we enjoyed a very interesting tour of Villa Feistkorn (1913), which was built in a blend of Art Nouveau and Neo-Baroque styles.
Next, we were able to explore the garden and staircase of Villa Helene (1891). After that, we went to the former women's clinic

The Alpine path climbed steeply between impressive rock formations. From there, we were already able to enjoy the beautiful view of the Nonnenfelsen and the green landscape. Next came the Große and Kleine Organ (Great and Small Organ) and the rock formations: St. Bernard, Rhino 🦏, and Lion 🦁.

A second fond childhood memory of a vacation in Northern Bohemia is a "rock castle" near Sloup.
There are various legends about the use of the 40-meter-high sandstone rock. There may have once been a castle at the foot of the rock.
Other sources speak of the construction of a castle on the sandstone rock

As children, we vacationed with our parents in Kamenický Śenov. A wonderful memory of those wonderful times is a basalt rock that was found not far from the village.
About 45 years later, it captivated me again, and like the little girl I did back then, I climbed around among the pentagonal and hexagonal basalt columns.

The Oybin community information booklet states:
"The ruins of an old castle and monastery sit enthroned on the mighty rocky massif of Mount Oybin. Soft chants can be heard in the former church, as if the monks were still there. A stunning backdrop that has inspired painters and poets centuries ago. The

What a sight! Entering this green and expansive park, you discover a true "fairytale castle" 🏰
We had already heard a lot about the castle park in Bad Muskau, which was once designed according to the ideas of Prince Pückler. With its lines of sight, groups of trees, and waterways, he conjured up a unique

Today we only took a short trip to the town of Schönfels, with its castle of the same name on the Auersberg hill.
